I began working with reptiles in my early years of college, keeping only a couple western hognose snakes. That quickly changed to more animals as my interest got stronger and I began to feel the draw of a few other species. I am now currently in a graduate program pursuing a PhD in genetics while maintaining, growing, and enjoying my reptile collection as my personal hobby.
I began focusing on a few hognose species as well as a couple sand boa species and I have slowly been growing my collection since. Adding animals that are the quality I am looking for in my breeding collection is my priority. After starting the collection around 2014 with only a handful of animals, I have currently grown to around 100 individuals of varying species.
Starting out with mainly western hognose and kenyan sand boas, I found my desire to grow my collection further to include genetics and variety in my breeding groups. I have since added a few kingsnake species and a couple spiders which I found to be a side interest of mine over the years. I have focused on purchasing animals that are healthy and displaying the phenotypes I find the most interesting so I can grow my own projects with the best animals I can purchase and produce.
I plan to have many new projects revolving around common morphs with high quality animals in both hognose and sand boas displaying healthy and vibrant examples of the morphs. I also have my own specialty projects I have found interest in and will focus on producing animals from those lines of a certain level before releasing any. More updates will be available in the future on those projects as they progress.
